Installing RedHat 9
Hi, I've played around with Linux before and want to install a "better" system and not just run it off a CD (Knoppix), i downloaded RedHat 9 iso's from a distro website for linux. I also created a 10 GB partition for Linux after all my other ones, 1 for music, 1 for school, and 1 for programs.

When installing the screen states that it cannot install on the last partition that i made. Any help? It states that i need to make it a root drive (???) and i completly confused by this.

Is there any way to delete the partition and put in back to my C: drive and partition from the Linux CD's?

Thanks! I am running Windows XP SP1, and i used Magic Partition 8 to create the partition's if that helps.

Make sure that you have actually selected a root drive when prompted on the installation screen.

This root drive would be the partition that you want RH9 to be installed on.

You could probably bypass those and install later online.
