Arrow Dual-booting XP+redhat
Hi all,
So i want to dual boot redhat and xp. I assume that i need to partition my HD and create an ext2 partition for linux and then a swap partition at about 600 MB. While i am doing the installation it is going to ask me wether to install Grub as a boot manager then i say yes and it installs itsef on the MBR. After coompleting the installation ieverytime i boot grub is gonna ask me if i want to use linux or xp.
So my question is if everything above is right? i just want to be sure before i do anything.

Thanks,

You should go for ext3 partition for linux - easy to do with the linux installer or partition magic. You should only need a 512mb swap partition at most. As for the bootloader, when isntalling go into the advanced settings and make sure you select it to also access the windows partition as a boot option. It will also allow you to select which is the default boot, and the timer of how long you have to choose wich OS to boot.

The general idea is correct yes.

Late,
