Ubuntu Linux won't boot
I am told it is an invalid system disk.

Are you set to boot from CD first?
Is this a version you burned youself, or one of the free Ubuntu CDs?
If you DL'ed an ISO and burned it, it could be corrupt, or incorrectly burned.
Exactly how did you do it?

You should have gotten an md5 checksum number that you compare to you downloaded ISO to make sure it's good.

It really sounds like you have a bad DL to me.

I had someone else DL and burn the disk I don't have high-speed internet in my area
