Downloading Linux
I want to download a "live cd" of ubnutu, but don't know how to save it to a cd. It gives you the option to save to a disk, but it downloads to desktop, and it also says open with, but I want to download it. So how can I do this?

It should be an .iso file. If it is an iso, then you first download it, then stick a blank cd into your cd burner and use a burning program to write it to cd. ISO's are images, they have the files inside of them. You don't save it to cd. Save it to the hard drive first.

Ah well the Live CD didn't boot, so I will just forget about it. Besides, I don't know if my dad burned the cd correctly ( I don't have a cd burner ). I was in a exploring mood for a few minutes, which is why I wanted Linux. I still do, but I'll stick with my Windows XP and plenty of spyware cleaners, anti-viruses stuf, and familiarness!

lol

I've found my favorite livecd distro to be Slax, a live version of Slackware.
