Help dad move?
Well, after over a year of Linux, I can safely say it's much better than Windows. Kubuntu especially is easy to setup and run, and with the power of apt-get, even installing applications is better in Linux.

Here's the big thing, my dad is die-hard Windows :S I know he can do everythign in Linxu that he can with Windows, with additions such as he won't have to pirate anything, no spyware/adware scans, and no viruses.

How do I convince him to give Linux a try on his PC, for a week, even a day? He simply won't do it, I know he'd be happier. Yes, he uses the computer a lot, and tought me a lot of what I know, but now I want to teach him.... Linux.

You could take your HD over there and put it in his computer.......
Or, take the whole computer - swap with him for a week.

Hahah - yeah man! Dads are like that. Well then you will just have to find something really cool that you can do with Linux that he can't do with windows.
Do you have, say, DVD::RIP on your box?
Have you shown him the thousands of free programs available for Linux?

I've already done that... but he can rip DVDs... he's got a copy of DVDXCopy XD.

I'm still going through KDE Apps, I've found Tellico (he does some computer repair and keeps a customer database with a small VB application I wrote for him, he said it doens't matter how thats done O_o). I keep talking about legally runnign and whatnot, but he doesn't seem to care how many laws he's breakign and how many times he's doing it ><

Mine was intent on installing linux on my comp, but when I realized that it wouldn't work, he wouldn't listen. So I had to explain it about a million times then he said "Well what are you arguing about then" I wanted to smart-mouth him and say "Well if you woulda listened the first time..." but I'm no bad boy, I know what he would do, unlike that stupid Super Nanny who says sit in the corner now!
