what is the graphical mode? X Window or some window manager? No, everything can be done from the command line. Check apache's site for instructions.

You probably don't don't need it, but I've found that it makes putting files and graphics into the folders much easier when I can go to the server and just copy and paste or drag and drop.

you by no means need Xfree or Xorg to have a apache server. Everything needed to run one can be done from a console.

you don't need to be in X to configure Apache, and the documentation is shipped with it
