Leaving Windows 98 for Linux
Hey, my request is a very large one and i would be grateful to nayone who can help !!

basically i wish to remove windows 98 from my laptop and install a linux os.

i am new to linux and would like some recomendations on some good linux versions for someone like myself !

also could somebody inform me how to remove the current windows OS on the laptop !!

Hi Peter,
Any of the current leading distros would probably suffice, and they will automatically delete Win98 during the install if you tell them to. Check out distros here,

I'm running Mandrake 10.1 Official on my Averatec 5400, dual booted with win XP, After about 8 months or so no problems. I very rarely use the XP partition.

i don't recommand deleting windows completely,since you're new to linux, my suggestion is to get a LiveCD distro like knoppix or ubuntu, these are only the major LiveCD distros, there many more, once you get your feet wet, feel free to get rid of that virus called windows
