New Knoppix User
Hello I am new to knoppix live cd... i have v3.9 and it can load when the hard disk isnt plugged in but when it is it loads until it says Scanning for Harddisk Partitions and creating /etc/fstab... Done



then it is blank... is it the hard disk? i have been able to boot it up without one though

If the HD is plugged in Knoppix will load it so you can see the partitions.

yeah but the HD was plugged in and it just stopped loading after it says Scanning for Harddisk Partitions and creating /etc/fstab... Done. and there isnt anything i can do
it lets me type stuff but i press enter and nothing happens but i tried it without the disk and knoppix loads so its not the cd thats bad. I also did Knoppix testcd to check the cd is ok too... please help

You should try booting the disk on another computer to see what happens... Did you do the MD5 checksum on the disk?

Whats the MD5 Checksum?... do you mean on the cd or the hard disk
