How come it is so hard to install Fedora? First FC3 would not even get to the installation and now FC4 keeps saying it is corrupted.

I downloaded the 4 discs that make up FC4. I burn them to cd and ran the install. The very first disc was corupt.

I need a way to A.) Check the download so I know it is not corrupt and B.) Check the cd to make sure it burned correctly.

http://fedora.redhat.com/download/ explains how to use SHA1SUM to make sure the download is not corrupted.
Your CD Burning Software should check if the CD was burned properly.

ok, ran sha1sum on the file in question. It matches the sum on the webpage.

When I burned it with kb3-iso there where no problems recorded. What else could be wrong?

Your CD is fine then.
What's the error message?

The ISO is fine; does'nt mean the CD is, though.
What speed are you burning at? Try 8X or slower.

Attempted burn at 8x. Once again, Kb3 says everything went fine but fedora's media check gives it a "Fail". I am running out of discs, and patience. I tried installing anyway. Went fine untill it got to the fourth disk. Said that it wasnt the forth disk (WTF). Though that might be error on my part, I am very sure I burned all the iso's and labled them correctly. Will try to burn another disc 4 shortly.

Ok, I got it installed to hdb1 but it did not install it's bootloader. Any suggestions on how to set up lilio bootloader I currently use for windows/mandrake to include fedora

IMO you should switch from LILO to GRUB. Some people have had trouble getting LILO to recognize more than Mandrake/Windows.

You can switch to GRUB in Mandrake's control center.

man lilo.conf for details on syntax.

I've had no problems with LILO.

switched to GRUB, have the same problem I had before. I dont know the syntex to tell lilo or grub to boot fedora core 4. I installed FC4 to HDB. I dont know if the primary part is 1 or 2. Any help?

EDIT> Ok, switched back to Lilo, set up a new Non-linux boot at hdb1, Fedora booted. Got some more problems, but FC4 is installed an running. Thanx for the help.
