Knoppix dial up connection
Once my internet connection is all set up (username, password, phone # etc) i try to connect. the connection dialog says modem ready, and the program just freezes. it's never gotten further than that. i have knoppix version 3.8, and im pretty new to it.

Does your ISP require a connection script?

What kind of modem do you have? What driver? Is it a winmodem?

the modem is "SoftV90 Data Fax Modem" All that it needs in windows is the username and password and the phone number. not sure if it needs anything more in knoppix, though. I'm pretty sure it's not a winmodem.

The word "Soft" in the modem name implies that it may be a software, or "winmodem". These are not directly supported in Knoppix, though drivers for some can be found and installed.
