Is there a difference
I was wondering if there is a difference between these 2 versions of linux kubuntu and ubuntu. I was just curious.

They are the same but Kubuntu specifically installs KDE as default.

Oh ok. Thanks. The reason I asked was cuz when I was on the ubuntu site I wanted to maked sure some of the stuff they were talking applied to me.

There's no real difference between the two Kubuntu and Ubuntu apart from the window manager used. You should use the window manager which you prefer, not the one that is mostly used, If you prefer KDE, then use Kubuntu, but if you prefer Gnome then use Ubuntu. You may also be interested in trying out ones such as XFCE - Another very good window manager, although lighter than Gnome.
