Angry Solved: Redhat Linux 9 Installation problems
Hi im having problems starting the installation it goes into the installation screen but doesnt show anything even when doing text mode and different commands

Your hardware is newer than your distribution of Red Hat. Red Hat cant support hardware that did'nt exist when it was released. There are up-to-date versions of Linux that supports that hardware.

That is kind of what I was getting at in my first post. You have an Athlon 64. Why not use an OS that can use its full potential. Red Hat 9 is 4 versions of Red Hat behind. Fedora Core 4 is out now.

OpenSuSE is up and going now or Fedora if you want to keep using RedHat products.

I just bought fedora core 4 on ebay for 25 cents brand new dvd version since im too lazy to dl it even with my cable connection lol

The answer to the original post can be as simple as

"Red Hat 9 was expecting PS2 keyboard and PS2 mouse. If a usb keyboard or mouse was used Red Hat 9 installer Anaconda may not have been configured for it".

Happened to me before. Just change to the PS2 equipment to get by.

There is nothing wrong to install as many Linux as the hdd can store them. RH9 needs less than 5Gb.
