Debian 3.1 won't install
I'm trying to install Debian on my system and at the part where it checks hardware at the beginning, it stops at about 92%. It says that it is detecting scsi devices I think. I have let it sit there for 10 minutes but nothing happens. This happens with different burns of different downloads of the isos, so it's not this disk. Other distros that have the same installation interface don't do this but I want to install debian, any help please.

If you don't have any SCSI devices then you will want to attempt to tell it to disable or not check SCSI devices when loading the kernel.

I think the SATA drive is recognized as a scsi becuase of the card I'm using, so I need it activated. Not too sure though becuase I'm fairly new to the SATA stuff.

You are correct, SATA is recognized as SCSI.

I think it may jsut be an incompatability between the controller and the version that you are installing, try installing a previous version of Debian.
