Which should I choose?
I would like to put Linux on my Presario in my sig (NOT IN USE NOW) It has no internet connection, so it needs to be able to install it without one. I would like it if the installer weren't hard to get through also. Any suggestions on a good distro to use?

Try Puppy Linux - it's a live CD that loads into memory and runs very fast. If you like it, it can be installed on to the HD - and best of all it's only about 64mb.

Thanks for the advice, guys...i've used Mandrake and Debian but never Puppy Linux...maybe I'll try it and see how the PC tolerates it!

I'd recommend Madrake/driva myself. The installer is one of the easiest I've come across.

My second choice would be FC3.

See Mandriva and FC3 have the problem that most peole will install something like KDE onto the machine and expect it to be fast. its just not the case, with the new versions of gnome and kde. I'm of the mindset that for a slower machine Damn Small Linux (DSL) which uses fluxbox(a much lighter window manager) by default, is a better option. Now I do understand that it will cause some shell shock (pun intended) with a completely different window management scheme but its the best way to learn, just dive right in.

You know, I just noticed JStergis' system specs in his sig, and I'll have to agree with you on the DSL installation. Feather Linux rates highly with me too.
