So it's like this.
I've got 2 hard drives: one's IDE, and one's SATA. The IDE one has my Windows on it, and the SATA has a whole lot of nothing, and my My Documents folder. Today I attempted to install Ubuntu in the whole lot of nothing, and ran into a lot of problems. The smilie face was next to partition 2, (where my crap was, should still be) but when I attempted to boot Ubuntu, it gave me "Error 17: Partition cannot mount." However, Windows insists that Local Disk D is not formatted and can't be read.
I've got quite a lot of stuff on there. Any suggestions on how to reclaim my partition (and my anime and stuff) from the depths? They should still be there, really... it's just getting Windows to see it.
TIA.
[Edit: Just in case it wasn't clear, Windows, on the IDE disk, still boots and reads itself fine. Also, according to Ubuntu's setup program, the partition still exists - it just doesn't have a boot sector, I'm thinking, hence Windows can't read it...[/Edit]
