Ubuntu wont load.
I'm new to linux so i figured i'd do something simple. I dl'ed an ubuntu live cd and popped it in. Everything went well, i watched alot of stuff load for a long time, pressed enter a bit. When it got towards the end, a screen came up saying it "couldn't load the x windows user interface". And i had to shut down. Is this because of all the themes i have on my windows like windowblinds and desktop x? I wouldn't think that would matter...

Thanks.

It's possible that you have a bad download. You need to do an MD5 checksum on all of your DLs to make sure that they are good.

http://distrowatch.com is about the best place around to find all alternate Operating Systems.
Do a search in these forums for MD5 checksum.

Do you know of any other 64-bit live cd distros, and where to download them?

To the best of my knowledge that site I listed has everything under the sun - if you just want to go some where else then do a Linux search.
