loading program on cygwin linux
Tried to load program on cygwin linux.
Having problems. I have a dell inspiron b130
Using windows xp. Used the following procedure:
# tar xvzf package.tar.gz (or tar xvjf package.tar.bz2) works
# cd package works
# ./configure does not work
# make cmd not recognize
# make install cmd not recognize

What am I doing wrong ?

well, cygwin isn't a linux distribution. Its a environment within windows that allows you to have linux/unix like functionality. What is the error you are getting while trying to do ./configure. One I will assume is that no C compiler can be found.

Assuming that is the case, you'll need to resetup cygwin and include stuff like gcc
