YOu just need to fdisk the master boot record. While you are in there you might as well remove the non-dos partitions as well.
fdisk /mbr
You can then boot with your XP disc and re-partition and format from there. | | Senior Member with 324 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: uk wales Experience: Beginner | | Not really following what you saying,,, Whats and how fdisk the master boot record,,, and fdisk /mbrot ??? | | Senior Member with 1,785 posts. | | | | Just boot with the XP disk...
...and choose to...
-Delete all partitions
-Create a new partition.
-Format the partition as NTFS. | | Senior Member with 324 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: uk wales Experience: Beginner | | ok thanks,,, got it,,,, just what i was going to try,,,,but thought i should check before i went for it and messed somthing up,,,, lol | | Distinguished Member with 14,988 posts. | | Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: 1265 Lombardi Ave Experience: IIAHYAYCESA,YAADA! |

#10 | I am pretty sure you are still going to have to Fdisk the master boot record because Linux was on their previously. | | Senior Member with 1,785 posts. | | |

Delete ALL partitions from the install disk will suffice.
Windows bootloader will overwrite GRUB or LiLO anyways. | | Senior Member with 324 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: uk wales Experience: Beginner |
