linux ubuntu problem
hey guys.

i installed linux ubuntu on my pc, but i cant connect to the internet.

while installing linux, when it does the "network hardware detection", it says, "no ethernet card was found", which is not good becase i DO have a d-link ethernet card installed.

one person told me that i need a "special ethernet card for linux"... ??? is this true cuz i have never heard anything like that before.

PLEASE help.
i posted this using someone else's computer.

i thought linux would not cause any problems. a well. i still like it and i will still use it.

bye bye microsoft.

edited: btw my linux ubuntu version is 5.10

most d-link cards work with linux....however, sometimes the installer does not recognize the card....check the hardware compatibilty list .

version
was wondering if there is a reason you are running an old version of ubuntu as the latest stable version is Dapper Drake 6.06 LTS

Just a thought you might want to consider upgrading your version. just download it via the MS partition on your puter and burn the iso file.

cheers
