Hello, everyone.
I was looking at Linux distros for older machines, and I came across
KateOS. I read (can't find the link at the moment) on their site that the OS has a minimum requirement of an i486 and 32MB RAM. I was just curious...have any of you tried it out? I've been reading a lot about it on various sites with a lot of good reviews, and I was thinking of looking into it for a project that my college will be doing soon--we are going to be taking donated computers and installing Linux on them (saves on license fees which come with Windows) and freely distributing them to students or others in need of computers. We are unsure of what the specs for the computers will be, so we are looking for a Linux distro which would be a good candidate all around.
So...have any of you heard of this distro ro tried it?
Thanks for any comments and/or suggestions...Right now I'm looking at Xubuntu, Puppy Linux, and possibly Kate OS as candidates for the project.
I'm open to any suggestions...I finally have some older PCs which I can use as testing machines.
Thanks everyone.
Take care.
