mounting partitions

I have a real boat anchor. A silicon graphics 4D/20 that has been causing me problems. If I ignore the problems with the DMA, whenever I try to boot from the monitor i gat a "tic" and the monitor displays "volume header not found, unable to continue". I can't completely troubleshoot until i am certain the drive is fine. I have several macs with scsi and I need to see if the partitions are intact. What is out there to allow me to view the partitions (8) on a mac?
