Linux Distro...
I recently acquired an old Windows 98 333MHz 2 Gigabyte PC, and have been looking for a small distro to use that doesn't sacrifice a (pretty) good looking GUI. Basically, DSL looks pretty ugly and I wanted to know how you can make it a little prettier. Also, I am looking for a video player that supports .flv files for linux. Thank you!

As I am new to Linux, I don't have a lot of suggestions. I have installed CentOS on my old Win98 machine and have been spending some time playing. Craigbass76 has been a lifesaver for me. Look him up for some advice.

The Knoppix distro I used briefly was also pleasant to use and configure. I have been pleased with the KDE environment and was able to customize it to my tastes.

Hope this helps.

Try Puppy, Im using it now, Great alternative to MS. Good interface, everyting is easy to setup. (also Loads from most types of external drive as long as you have 128mb of ram).
Way faster than Windows on a 333 mhz machine. ( note: you dont need 128 mb of ram if it is installed to the hd.) & loads of software included, I have yet to find a common document/video/etc file that is unsupported.
If you have 128 mb of ram, download it to a cd/flash drive etc. & try the 'live' version.
This way you can try it without it touching your present op sys.

Right on Rob! I too am a Puppy lover. Zoradude5's computer should do well with Puppy Linux. I would be interested in knowing the outcome if Puppy is tried.
