That's the whole idea behind the LiveCD's - the ability to take the Linux distro for a test drive without making any changes to your PC. Since the LiveCD runs from RAM and the optical drive it goes slower than a true install would.
There are some flukes - I've seen some things work within a LiveCD environment, like internet connectivity, that didn't work when installed. Only had to disable IPV6 to get internet back, so that wasn't a big deal.
Also, some folks have had problems installing from the LiveCD, then success when using the "Alternate Install" CD. The alternate install is the same text-based interface as the Breezy version, which isn't hard to use and seems to be more trouble-free. This is especially true with PC's that have 256 RAM or less. The LiveCD needs more RAM.
If you don't have a lot of RAM, but do have broadband, I'd suggest trying the LiveCD but installing with the "alternate" CD.
