Install Ubuntu 6.1.0 "System Memory Manager has detected an error caused by a fault
caused by a fault in one of the device drivers or programs loaded in this system.

Due to this fault the system is probably in an unstable state.
If the problem persists then try to isolate which program is at fault
(if you have loaded several then load them one at a time until the fault appears).
Then contact the technical support department for that program.

Can anyone tell me what the question is that I need to ask and possibly give me a direction
to go in, in order to resolve this problem?

At what point do you get this error? At startup, or when you run a particular program or command, or just randomly?

Edit: From my rather limited knowledge of assembly, it seems that the code segment has an invalid value, "FF FF FF...", so it's a program that's trying to execute an invalid instruction. It's hard to put your finger on things like that because it's an error in the machine code, so probably something wasn't compiled correctly, or the OS is not scheduling things right.

I will run through it again so that I can get you that info but it is not far into the installation
when that screen comes up.

Just run it multiple times and make sure that the error is not only reproducible, but consistent and clearly triggered by something every time. That makes it easier to pinpoint.

Better late than never; I reinstalled and everything is working perfectly
now. The one thing I did do was to remove all ACRONIS products and everything works fine.

I apologize for hollering.
