Question New Linux User
I installed Linux, and the problem I am having is: On boot up I get a message- UNEXPECTED INCONSTENCY: RUN fsck MANUALLY
An error occured during the file system check. Dropping you to a shell.

How do I fix the error?

Thanks in advance

You will have to manually check the filesystems on your box. To do this, enter the root password, then type:
fsck -a -y

This should fix it. I think so, anyway.

I tried that and I get: Parallelzing fsck version 1.19
(Repair Filesystem) #2
and I re entered fsck -a -y
and get the same message with (Repair Filesystem) #3

Is this what needs to happen?

Thanks,

M

Thanks for responding for me, stufine. Can I call you stuffing? Whenever I hear (or read, I guess) your name, I think of stuffing...

And Boba-Fett.

...Sorry for not getting back to you, mareena.

YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT STUFINE IS OUT THERE! Stufine gives lots of help to me!

Let's all start a Stufine fanclub! Think about it...

A fanclub, and we don't even know what stufine looks like!

How in the world does Stufine remind you of Boba-Fett
Is it my commanding presence??
Or is it that you think i should be in a sarlacc pit being slowly digested over a 1000 years.

LOL.

I think it's because you should be knocked into the pit and be digested. I think it would be worse to be talked to by C-3P0 all day, though. He's irritating! Yeah, you're pretty commanding! Ahhh!
