Installing ATI propierty dirver
I am trying to install an ATI driver for my radeon x1600 on Mandriva 2007.
I downloaded the .run file and tried running it but came up with an error after uncompressing "extraction failed"
This driver has been tested with Novell and Redhat.

I read the install instructions to c if there might be any problems. With the newer kernels 2.6.11 and newer if CONFIG_AGP=y in the kernel config file i need to have the kernel AGP frontend. HELP

I found code called frontend.c on the internet is that what I'm looking for? Where and how do i go about putting it on my system? By the way my video card isnt even AGP it's PCIe.

If you are getting an extraction error, it more likely your download is corrupt.
Make sure you grabbed the right one for your distro/platform and check the md5sum of the file. (md5sum filename. Most sites list this along with the file.)

Or try re-downloading.
