How do I install this USB Wireless Adapter?
This is what I got:

http://3btech.net/chrart80wius.html

It has a link to a page that has some source code available for download. I'm not exactly sure which one I'm supposed to download, or what to do with it after I get it.

Please help!

Thanks in advanced.

post lspci
this should help give you an idea, I think yours is the same chipset but lspci will tell.
There is some native drivers and you could use ndiswrapper.
Ralink didn't supply any doc's that I could find.

For my D-Link adapter all I had to do was open the wireless assistant and click refresh about 3-4 times and it automatically detected my adapter and then found networks. I suppose its worth a shot.

The instructions to compile are found in the \RT2500-Linux-STA-1.4.6.6\Utility\ of the archive. Apparently, you'll need to install the Qt/X11 Free Edition development package first. It should have a make file, so just su in as root in terminal, then qmake -o Makefile "filename", make, and make install, from the command line.

Do the same for the utility. Example, from terminal

$ su
$ "root password"

navigate to directory you saved the file

$ gzip -d "RT2500-Linux-STA-1.4.6.6.tar.gz"
$ cd "RT2500-Linux-STA-1.4.6.6.tar"
$ tar xvf "RT2500-Linux-STA-1.4.6.6.tar"

navigate to the makefile in the utility folder

$ qmake -o Makefile raconfig2500.pro <I got this from the compile instructions for the utility

$ make
$ make install

I downloaded the incorrect one for your adaptor, your's is a R71, so you'll need this source: http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/dat...1.0.3.6.tar.gz
