Ess Es 1868

I am using redhat 7.0 with a 2.2.16-22 kernel. My sound card is ESS ES1868. When I run sndconfig it will lock up during the setup process. Then I have to hit the reset button and when it starts to load up it gets to sound module and locks up.

I have tried to set up isapnptools but I do not understand what I am supposed to do.

Does anyone have this card running on their system??
Does anyone have any advice on what I could try??
