Audio CD creation confusion
I want to burn an audio CD but every program I try to use gives me an unsupported format message. They're all mp3, which is a common audio file format. So what am I doing wrong here? It's probably real simple but I'm at a loss here cuz I've never had any problems burning audio using other OSes.Is there a program I can use to convert the format or something? I've tried AcidRip, K3b, KAudiocreator and serpertine.

What distro, some don't support mp3's out of the box.
Do you have cdrecord, CDDA2WAV, Cdparanoia, mpg123 or mpg321 and lame installed? This is a little old but it explains the process;

You should be able to do it with k3b, you just need to install the other software.

mp3 madness
My distro is ubuntu 6.0.6 LTS. So you say need to install some additional software to get this to work. Okay, I'll see if I can do that and get it to work. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks
Thanks Couchmaster, I'm GTG now. before today, I never thought of mp3 as a proprietary format but it has a patent and everything. Oh well you live and learn.
