Hi,

Im just about to buy 4 few servers 3 all with the following specs...

Intel Celeron 800
256Mg SDRAM
40Gb HD (SCSI)

And another server with...

2 x Intel PIII 800
512Mg Fast SDRAM
320Gb RAID

I need to know the best version of unix/linux for these. The first 3 servers will be running Web/FTP/TelnetServer/Firewall

And the 4th server will be used just for storage, what should i use?

RedHat is the most often used Linux OS used on business servers. It is real easy to install. Lots of help on web too.

I would go with slackware as I have had good results and most businesses I know run it, but redhat is good too.

My extremely biased, vote for the underdog, I use it so you should too reply would be Slackware...

Debian is also good stuff (ever heard of slashdot.org? They run Deb...)

If you have to make a pitch to management, Redhat is always a good choice (they're a _real_ company, and offer support.)
