Try Ubuntu. It's the most user friendly version of Linux I've come across. But Fedora isn't that bad either, I guess. I've been using Ubuntu for the last three months and have been very impressed with the level of progress it has made in that period of time. Especially regarding the new features to be expected from it's next version release in April. For more about that, see this link:

Anyway, it's my OS of choice now. And I like the philosophy behind the name itself (the ideology).
Download a live CD copy of it from their website.
Your computer looks like it would be a great candidate for Ubuntu, but I would highly recommend you upgrade the memory to 512 if you think it's running slow. It might not, however. But the rest of the system looks very good. 1.5 mhz is well enough for Ubuntu.
You can download an ISO CD image of their version 6.10 here:

While Techguy's forums are great, they're userbase of Linux users is rather small when compared to this forum:

If you intend to use this OS, this is a site you should bookmark. Very good help there.
The ISO image you download is Live, meaning you can boot from it, and it will actually load up nearly the entire OS right of the disc. This gives you the opportunity to try it out without actually installing it or copying any files to the hard drive. If you like what you see, and are able to figure it out (it's not hard, just explore) you can then simply double click on the "install" icon on the desktop.
Enjoy!
P.S.
If you REALLY want to save a lot of time, and get your hands on tons of extra software without having to install them, check this out:

Ubuntu Ultimate 1.3 comes with a HUGE list of software. You can read about it at the link just above. It's what I have installed on my computer, and with Beryl being a snap to setup, it's damn better than Vista. I'll tell ya that. And it's free.
