Question disk defrag
Does the Linux ext3 file system get fragmeted, so that a defragmeter tool is needed like used in XP with NTFS ?

Linux doesn't spread detritus all over your hard drive the way Windows does. There are very little temporary files on a Linux system. Most of them you'll find in /var, and are usually log files. My Ubuntu 6.06 installation has been in use for over ten months straight. My entire /var directory is only 285M in size.

<3 linux. Only reason i use windows is for a wider selection of programs.
