linux boot problem
hi

i am trying to boot and install suse 10 from cd on my macbook the problem is when it gets to the menu asking me to select things like run from hard drive and install and other options it auto selects hard drive

and then the screen gose blank and will not go any futher this is becuse i have not installed linux on my hard drive so it is trying to boot something that is not there.

is there anyway i can reset the cd so it will let me select install.?

Don't know anything about mac equipment but there are two types of Linux CD.

The installable CD will want to find a home for the installation.

The 100% Live CD will not touch any hard disk and self sufficient to run in the memory.

There are some Live CDs that are installable too. After it is loaded into the memory you will find an icon in the desktop saying "install me" or "harddisk install".

Thus your solution may lie with the choice of the Linux CD.

The blank screen is mostly likely due to a mismatch of the video equipment. Try a different CD or use the text mode for installation will help.

make sure its a live cd and if you dont know whats going on, try another live cd distribution... like knoppix or kanotix...

I can suggest using the live version! Im not fmiliar with macs at all, but why would you need linux solution on mac ?

Isnt debian The best build for dual booting ??
