Unhappy kubuntu v6.10 problems
i am completely new to this OS so i have no idea what i'm doing. so far i have encountered two problems that i have no idea how to fix. i'm hoping that someone here will help...
the first problem is that it woun't shutdown correctly, the computer displays the Kubuntu screen and stays that way i have to press the on button for three seconds to shut down my machine

the second problem is i can't get my floppy to mount i keep getting the error message mount:/dev/is not a block device

(1) Try click terminal and issue command
Code:
sudo halt
(2) Take a look at /dev directory. All the block devices are there if detected. Also you need to have a floppy disk in the drive before you can mount a device on a filing system tree. The idea is to read files off so just an empty drive would not mount, nor does it make any sense.

Hope the above helps
