Booting Fedora 6 from a floppy disk
I've got an old windows 98 which I'm trying to replace with fedora 6 however the CD drive won't find the disk before windows has started. Is it possible to boot fedora core 6 from a floppy disk or even a USB flash drive?

Boot disk
I'm sure that you can create a boot floppy from the Fedora install CDs / DVD, but first, have you checked that your CD is set to boot from before the hard disk in the bios?

It is a chicken and egg situation.

Yes you can ask an installed Fedora to make a bootable floppy in the root console by command
Code:
grub-install /dev/fd0
Your problem is the Fedora need to be booted up from a CD rom before it can be installed. You can try the network install by searching Fedora web site.
