Ess Allegro sound in Debian Linux ie, Ubuntu and Puppy
I have been dabbling with installs of the linux distros Puppy and Ubuntu on three laptops that I have and the thing that is really drawing me away from the complete transversal from microsoft to Linux is that all three of my laptops have Ess Audio Cards ( Ess 18xx, Ess allegro ). Any help understanding and or resolving this problem would be of great significants to me. I am not currently understanding how to modify comfortably the kernal so help with that is also apprieciated I need Sound!!!
