Solved: KnoppMyth Installation
Hi!

I'm trying to install MythTV on an old desktop (P3 1Ghz, 512Mb RAM) using the KnoppMyth install CD (R5F1.) I used the default boot options. Install is good up until I get this message:

Quote:
Creating dirctories and symlinks on ramdisk...cloop:error -3 uncompressing block 22743 65536/0/3953/0 696114853-696118806
Buffer I/O error on device cloop0, logical block 727781
Install continues without problem through detecting and installing the rest of the hardware. Then I get the following message:

Quote:
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
/sbin/Start: line 16: /usr/bin/local.bin.KnoppMyth-main: Input/output error
I am given a promp, so I navigated to /usr/local/bin/ and saw several KnoppMyth files. I tried running -main -auto -run -auto.orig -install all produced the same Input/output error. I'm happy to give any more info needed.

What do I need to do to get the install working? What does the error mean? Would it be easier if I used a different distro? Should I use different arguments for boot? Is this caused by unsupported hardware?

Thanks in advance!
