Fedora 7 released
Ars Technica article here.

Highlights include, but are not limited to:

Fedora 7 features the latest versions of many popular open-source software programs, including GNOME 2.18, KDE 3.5.6, Xorg 7.3, and version 2.6.21 of the Linux kernel, with integrated KVM virtualization support. The inclusion of Xorg 7.3 is particularly exciting, because it brings extremely comprehensive support for display hot-plugging, a much-anticipated feature that will hopefully eliminate the need for the frustrating Xorg configuration tweaking typically required for multiple monitor configurations and projector support.

Fedora 7 also includes the NetworkManager utility for improved wireless networking, a new SELinux graphical configuration tool, support for Fast User Switching, a new Firewire stack, and support for the experimental Nouveau driver, an open-source alternative to NVIDIA's proprietary drivers that could eventually provide complete support for hardware-accelerated 3D rendering.

sweet.......I currently have fedora 6, and I want to give 7 a try.

I hope that the wireless is better then 6 (was quite the hassle to connect) and that there are more included network adapters for laptops (was a nightmare to get it to work)

Alright, I got ahead of myself and installed it ahead of schedule.

Overall, I don't really see much of a difference between 6 & 7 (other then a new default wallpaper). The only thing which I did like is that my Ethernet worked right out of the box (I have yet to test wireless). Right now, I have a lot of configuring to do so that my system is running the way I like it. I will post a screen shot once I am finsihed

Alright, I have been configuring it a bit, and got it somewhat back to what I had in 6.

However, I would much prefer Fedora Core 6 to Fedora 7. I have already noticed that Fedora 7 is not exactly stable . It has happened twice where the sound driver failed to load, and it happened once where X was unable to load.

Overall, I give Fedora 7 a measly 5/10.
As opposed to 6 with a 7/10
