Starting out...
I have been wanting to migrate away from the Microsoft world and into a Linix world. I have never played with linix so I was wondering what a good falvor would be to learn on? Redhat? Mandrake? Thanks!

also try a live cd which would let you try a operating system before you actually install it.

what ever you decide to go for dont do what I did load ubuntu and expect it to just work like windows, look into different distros and see if which one would suit you best, burn a couple of live cd and try them out. Then if you like the look of one go into the forum related to that one. Ask questions if you are using a lappy see if your wirless card will run with linux and so forth. Ive been usuing ubuntu for a couple of weeks and I love it, however ive still got alot to learn as am totally new to linux. Google and wiki will be your bible. However if you are using a desktop pc and are just going to surf the web, listen to music would recommend ubuntu. Would also recoment using a distro that is the newest version of what it is as you will get more support.
Good luck

I have a tendency to spell it as 'Linix' also. Ha, silly.

Good luck and have fun!
