I was just reading an article about zsh and it got me thinking. I've been using bash for the overwhelming majority of the time and so are a lot of people. Probably without thinking about it / realizing it.

Hi Brie,

You beat me to it!

To answer your question, Ultimate Ubuntu comes with bash and dash, but I am looking to upgrade to zsh after reading the article as I tend to like some features in each of the shells it draws from.

I must say, after having the wonderful experience of using Synaptic package manager to update to Firefox 2.0.0.5 release and saving the files in a compressed tar file - I've integrated my initialization script to include the update - I will have no problemos with getting zsh installed via Synaptic.

I had looked at various ways in the Ubuntu forums for getting Firefox 2.0.0.5 and considered each, but none of them equaled Synaptic for ease of use.

P.S. Checkout this for Comparison of computer shells.

I checked out that link earlier. It's pretty sweet. Helped make my decision. The shells to the right of the table . . . not sure how I feel about them.

Anyway, I've been using zsh for a day now and I'm hooked. I'm not going back to bash. I mean, most people could be using zsh and not know but zsh has so much locked potential. I think it's way underrated. Google 'zsh lovers' and you'll see it's totally a cult thing still.

. . . but everything has it's time to shine.
