I'm a Ubuntu user. Here are my reasons why:

1) From all of the distros I've seen, the Ubuntu developers take disabled users into consideration more than other distros I've seen. Now that I know how to use the technology available (thanks to a lot of support from the Ubuntu Forums, the Ubuntu Accessibility Team, and the developers of the assistive technology (like the GNOME screen magnifier gnome-mag)), I am no longer a Windows user.

2) Out of all of the distros I've seen, Ubuntu has the most support that I've come across. The community at the Ubuntu Forums is wonderful (I am under the name RKCole there). Thanks to their support (and from the support here, as a matter of fact), I can now do things in Linux that I never would have dreamed fo doing a few years back.

3) I have used Fedora in the past, but I have found that Ubuntu si the most user-friendly and it is not too difficult to use.

Hey! Where's Slackware?

You can't have Fedora and Red Hat as separate options and not put Slackware!

That's what "Other" is for

I'm all about the Ubuntu.
I've tried Red Hat/Fedora in the past and they're a little more "advanced" than I can handle. I have yet to try their new version, but I some of my old college buddy's are fond of PC Linux OS.

I understand what the other category is for.

I just think that Slackware is too mainstream of a distro to be left out especially if Fedora and Red Hat are given individual options.

I've never been too much of a fan of Red Hat or Fedora, either.

Ubuntu/Debian

1. Mainly because I love apt-get

2. Ubuntu has the best community out there. The forums are massive. Lots of books in print about Ubuntu.

3. The easiest install process I have ever seen (1 disk and 30 minutes) (Suse and Fedora need 3 disk and a longer install time) (Slackware and other died in the wool Unix like OSs are great for server but over kill for a desktop system I don't need a mail server and a DHCP server for my laptop)

My two cents

Slackware might have been put into the list, but I somehow forgot it.

BTW I'm a Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn user. It's extremely user friendly and effecient also.Basically,I was a Windows user for past 7 years(when I was 10).It is only Ubuntuforums that had given me the courage to venture into Linux on my own.Experience on linux is very nice till now. After a few weeks...after checking some software and hardware compatibilty,I'm going to fully switch over to Ubuntu...to enjoy the freedom of opensource!

I'm a big fan of the LiveCD concept.

Slax is my favorite . Trying out ZenWalk which I recently downloaded..

Still on Windows XP, but have been considering doing my internet surfing with Slax or ZenWalk.

It's totally cool.
I thought you trying to be one of those lusers who can only feel good by constantly speaking to people in a condescending fashion.

Glad we're cool!

People are forever taking me seriously when I don't mean to be taken that way.
