Installing Xubuntu.
Ok, im in the process of installing xubuntu on an old pentium laptop. I booted from the Cd through the BIOS and chose the "install" option.

It showed a xubuntu logo for a while, then the screen went black except for a little cursor. (Like DOS) The processor and the cd drive are revving, so i think its still in the process of installing.(its a really slow cd drive) Its been like this for a couple hours now.

Is this normal?

it has 64 mb ram, and a pentium processor. (it meets the bare minimum requirements.

Ty

OK Wikipedia says:Once installed, Xubuntu can run with 64 MB RAM, but performs much better with at least 128 MB RAM. ONCE INSTALLED. Xubuntu.org says:To run the Desktop CD (LiveCD + Install CD), you need 128 MB RAM to run or 192 MB RAM to install. The Alternate Install CD only required you to have 64 MB RAM.Do you have the LiveCD? There are (fairly complicated) workarounds for the Live disk to be found on the 'net about creating Swap Files on the Harddisk first. You would be better with the Alternative disk, but there is still not much room for manouver. Does it have to be Xubuntu? The amount of RAM suggests something like DSL or Puppy Linux might be better.
