Can't install Pidgen
I enter in the command shell "./configure" but it returns this error--

"checking for XML::Parser...
configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool"

I looked up "Parser perl module" in google but couldn't really find anything.

What is Pidgen and where did you download it from?

I think the OP may have meant "Pidgin", which is the new name for the Gaim Multi-protocol Instant Messenger client. I may be wrong...

adanedhel728: if you are using Ubuntu, you can download a .deb package fo the latest version of Pidgin (v2.1.1) here.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

Yes, I meant Pidgin, sorry about that. I got it at Linux.org/apps

I'm using SimplyMEPIS, because it's the only one that I could get to work.

Thanks for that link, Knight, but it gave me a different error while unpacking it this time--

There is a very good chance that this will sound stupid, but could it be that the problems I'm having (and I've posted many on this board) is based on having an old kernel? I just got what I found on SimplyMEPIS's website, and I really don't understand most of what's going on.

Ok, I just found another program that was installed with SimplyMEPIS that does everything I wanted Pidgin to do. Thanks for the help, though!
