problem with sudo apt-get install
hey, our college has ironport (LDAP) that asks for username n password everytime i go to a new link on the net. I want to install build-essential on ubuntu but sudo command doesnt work because of this redirection. Is there a way out?

Don't you think that is the intention of the PC owner preventing users to install their software in an uncontrolled manner and flood the hard disk.

You don't have any technical problem if it is your own PC.

Don't think this forum encourage passing hacking tips.

If you are using a Windows network controlled by the college the admin may be restricting the browser types or have other restictions imposed.
