Strange Hard Drive Problem
Hi. This is a really weird problem. I dual boot XP and Ubuntu and after installing NTFS Configuration Tool on Ubuntu, I set the My Music folder in XP as my library in Rhythmbox so I didn't have to duplicate all of the music in each of the OS's. I have noticed that when I play the songs from the My Music, folder they sound distorted or 'overdriven'. The weird thing is that when I copy the files to the ubuntu partition and play them, they sound absolutely fine. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to duplicate all my music?

How are your dual boot drives connected when you access the shared folder from Ubuntu - is it using Samba? Or, do you possibly mount the NTFS WinXP drive and read the files from the mount point directory?

What interface are you using to do the sharing?

I have a 320gb SATA drive which I partitioned so that I could use half for ubuntu and half for xp (plus the swap partition). Then I downloaded NTFS Configuration Tool from the repository so that I could mount the windows partition in ubuntu. Not sure what you mean by which interface I use.
