Talking FC6 on VMware workstation 6 problem
hi guys,

i reinstalled my acer laptop and ,

i am trying to install fedora core 6 on VMware workstation v6...
the problem im having is that i manage to start the vm
and boot up off the FC6 dvd...but when i get to the section that
asks me what device i want to install to...it is blank...
i have a 6GB partition created by vmware...

do i have to configure the bios?

i never had this problem last time...i dont understand

any help really really appreciated...

I think that VMware is asking for the name of the partition it created, i.e. the partition has a corresponding device name. Everything is a file, and device names are no exception. You may have to boot up with a Linux Live CD to see the partition names with the $ sudo fdisk -l command, e.g. /dev/sdb2. Specifically, you are looking for a partition ID code of 83 in which to load FC6.

It is unlikely that you need to do anything to the BIOS.
