just installed kubuntu
And I need help understanding the system. Now I have installed successfully and I need help when it comes to connecting to the internet. I want to be able to connect both wireless and through ethernet. I think it didn't get the driver while isntalling so I may or may not have to search for the driver.

I only know that the laptop is an IBM thinkpad T20 with an Intel Pentium 3 and 256MB of ram. Along with a 12GB HDD. Can't tell you anymore since linux is installed and I don't know how to use it well. All help is appreciated.

Skullz.

To connect to the ethernet:

sudo dhclient3 eth0

As for the wireless network, that's a whole different story. Try using the network manager (by default on Ubuntu it's located on the top right corner, not sure about Kubuntu).

I never could get my wireless to work with kubuntu. I loaded the latest version of PCLinux 2007 & it was just a matter of a few clicks. PCL appears to be a more friendly when it comes to wireless.
