installing java
hi all, i am a complete linux newbie but having had enough of a certain OS decided to give it a go, however i am really struggling to install java on mandriva 2008. i would like to say its curtains to windows but i am at my wits end. can anyone help??

Have you checked out http://java.sun.com

Java should be in your package loader (about 5mb's), If not do a search for "Java Runtime 1.4" for Mandriva on their forums. This will be about 22mb's and will run on any browser including Opera.
