Unhappy linux OS installation - <any version>
How do I install linux on my windows xp PC? i want to run a dual OS on my PC. where do i get a free copy of a downloadable linux OS installer. thanks a lot, more power to yah!!

I suggest Ubuntu - you can get it here - http://iso.linuxquestions.org/
The column on the left of that page tells how to burn an ISO

why does everyone suggest ubuntu
In my experience i find people find fedoras installer to be much more intuitive and easy for the non technical minded to use.

I already have my ISO image of LINUX OS installer is there a detailed manual on how to install these? i dont rili have any knowledge of installing these but i want to try it coz i heard its a great OS... THAnks!

If you have DL'ed and burned the Ubuntu ISO to a CDR then you just boot with the disk in the CD drive and follow the onscreen instructions.

Can i boot it without burning the Ubuntu iso? I have my virtual cd drives anyway.. can i install it while my windows XP is running? My harddrive is partitioned into two, i want dual OS, my windows XP is intalled in drive C, i would like to install my linux on drive D. is it possible? I dont have a cd burner so i'll try running it using my virtual drives... thanks a lot..

im installing the ubuntu while my windows xp is running. hope this works and hope this doesn't make my windows xp go crazy. hehehe gud luck to me..

I finally have my linux OS, no problem encountered so far. except i have to configure my settings yet. I installed Ubuntu-8.04 without a hitch and without booting thru a live CD. thanks for the time guys.. i'll try the redhat version 9 next time..
