Solved: GCC Installation
I'm a little bit new to Linux but I'm starting to warm up to it. I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.04 at home as a dual-boot with XP. I'm running openSUSE 10.2 at work as a virtual machine. My question pertains to my SUSE installation. I'm trying to install GCC 4.3.0, but I'm finding the website's (gcc.gnu.org) instructions to be more than a little bit over my head at this point. Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions for installing from gcc-4.3.0.tar.gz that are geared towards a user that is not a seasoned veteran/developer?

Thanks

You should be able to install GCC from the software manager.

That seemed to work. The system disk didn't have the latest version, but I don't know enough about gcc yet for that to make a difference. The thing I keep forgetting about linux is that even though it's not windows, there's usually an easy button somewhere in most of the new distros.

Thanks for the help.
